Four levels. One journey.
Each level name describes what the student is becoming. The first three are action-oriented identities. The fourth is the professional identity of the field itself — earned through demonstrated pre-professional competency, never through age or time served.
Explorer
Grades K–2“Measure it. Tell me what you see!”
Hands-on, sensory-first discovery. Comparing sizes, counting whole units, and first use of a ruler and a scale. Teddy is the experiment.
Investigator
Grades 3–5“Measure it. Write it down. Now do it again.”
Documentation as habit. Units, estimation then verification, and the first honest question: why did we get different numbers?
Innovator
Grades 6–8“Why isn’t it the same every time?”
Measurement science proper begins. Precision versus accuracy, repeatability, sources of error, calibration, and traceability.
